Hear Donald Glover & Beyoncé Sing ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight?’ In New Ad For ‘The Lion King’

In a world where hundreds of films get theatrical release a year, and hundreds more hit streaming and VOD, it really does feel like all film industry news and rumors revolve around which Disney film is about to hit theaters. Whether it’s from Marvel Studios, Pixar, Disney, or Star Wars, there seems to be at least one huge film coming from the Mouse House on a bi-weekly basis. Sometimes, as it is now, you have huge films coming from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel hitting theaters within a month of each other.

That brings us to the upcoming live-action/CGI/animated/whatever remake of “The Lion King.” Even though we have to make it through “Toy Story 4” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home” in the next couple of weeks, the Disney marketing machine is working overtime to make sure everyone knows that “The Lion King” is hitting theaters in mid-July. And how better to get people’s attention for this new remake than to release a clip from the famous song, “Can You Feel The Love Tonight?” which is now being sung by none other than Donald Glover and Beyoncé Knowles in the 2019 film?

As seen in the new TV ad for “The Lion King,” the film will, obviously, include a new rendition of the classic song, as well as new versions of all the famous songs, but with new folks providing the vocals. And since the 2019 ‘Lion King’ features one of the most ridiculously talented casts ever assembled for a Disney film, you can imagine how good the songs will sound. (It doesn’t appear like we’re going to get a cringeworthy Will Smith “Prince Ali” issue with this remake.)

So, are you ready for “The Lion King?” Or are you even thinking about July 19, when your eyes are about to be bombarded with more Disney stuff in the next couple of weeks? Either way, you better prepare yourself. This behemoth is coming up.
