Contest: Win A Blu-Ray Copy Of The Year’s Best Superhero Film ‘Fast Color’

In a world that features at least three Marvel Studios films, two DC films, and numerous other superhero projects per year, it’s refreshing to find a film that utilizes superhero tropes but in a wholly unique and interesting way. Don’t get me wrong, I do love “Avengers: Endgame,” but perhaps the most impressive superhero-esque film of the year is “Fast Color.”

And since “Fast Color” has just arrived on VOD, Blu-ray, and DVD, we are happy to give our readers a chance to take home their very own copy of the film on Blu-ray. “Fast Color” tells the story of a young woman with superpowers, who finds herself on the run. But this is where “Fast Color” zigs when you think it will zag. While being a tense thriller, with superhero undertones, the film turns into a family drama as the woman tries to mend personal relationships with the people she left behind, including her mother and her daughter.

“Fast Color” stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, David Strathairn, Lorraine Toussaint, Saniyya Sidney, and Christopher Denham. The film is co-written and directed by Julia Hart. The filmmaker is probably best known for her film “Miss Stevens.” She’s also attached to the upcoming “Stargirl” series for DC Universe.

To win a copy of the film, all you have to do is follow The Playlist on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, tweet: “I want to win a Blu-ray copy of ‘Fast Color’ from @ThePlaylist. #WinThePlaylistContest,” and include the URL of this story. Your final step: just email us your tweet to playlistcontests@gmail.com, with your full name and address, and tell us the name of your superhero film.

“Fast Color” is available now on Digital, VOD, Blu-ray, DVD, and however else you purchase films.

Here’s the synopsis:

Hunted by mysterious forces, a young woman (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) with supernatural abilities must go on the run when her powers are discovered. With nowhere else to go, she flees back to her family and the farmhouse she abandoned long ago. There, while being pursued by the local Sheriff (David Strathairn), she begins to mend the broken relationships with her mother (Lorraine Toussaint) and daughter (Saniyya Sidney) and learns that the power she needed was inside her all along.
