Kathryn Hahn, Melissa Leo, Imogen Poots, Juliette Lewis & More Join Mark Ruffalo’s Upcoming HBO Series

Honestly, HBO had us sold on the upcoming limited series “I Know This Much is True” based solely on the involvement of actor Mark Ruffalo and writer-director Derek Cianfrance. However, after this new report that fleshes out the supporting cast, we really can’t even contain our excitement. I mean, Kathryn Hahn alone is enough to get our complete and utter attention.

Deadline is reporting that Hahn, along with Melissa Leo, Archie Panjabi, Rosie O’Donnell, Imogen Poots, and Juliette Lewis have all joined Ruffalo in the cast of the series. “I Know This Much is True” follows the story of identical twin brothers (both played by Ruffalo) that are dealing with mental illness, betrayal, struggling marriages, and much more.

Hahn is a favorite around these parts due to her underrated filmography that includes incredible performances in “I Love Dick,” “Transparent,” and of course, last year’s really great “Private Life,” just to name a few. Of course, she’s on the radar of many film fans with her comedic work in major films like “Bad Moms,” “Step Brothers,” and even last year’s voice work in “Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.”

Melissa Leo is an Oscar winner that has done really great work in films like “The Fighter” and “Prisoners.” Rosie O’Donnell, though often ridiculed, has turned in really outstanding performances in the recently canceled “SMILF.” Imogen Poots is probably best known for her roles in “Knight of Cups” and “Green Room,” but will soon be seen in the upcoming FX series “Y.” Panjabi has been turning heads on TV screens with roles in “The Good Wife” and “Blindspot.” And at this point, everyone knows Juliette Lewis.

Talk about a stacked cast.

As mentioned, “I Know This Much Is True” is written and directed by Derek Cianfrance, who is best known for his film work on projects “Blue Valentine,” “The Place Beyond the Pines,” and “The Light Between Oceans.” This isn’t Ruffalo’s first project for HBO, either. He also was in the acclaimed film “The Normal Heart.”

No word on a release date for the six-episode limited series, but you better believe with this cast and Cianfrance behind the camera, we’ll be keeping an eye on the project.
