‘Avengers: Endgame’: Hyperbolic Reactions Promise A “Masterful Epic” & “Emotional Rollercoaster”
What else is there to say? We’re in the endgame now. Yep, the world premiere of “Avengers: Endgame” was last night, most North American press sees it today (yours included) and the Marvel epic that runs just over three hours long (only if you include the long-ass credits though) opens this weekend for the world to see.

The movie is expected to make mega money, and some reports estimate that ‘Endgame’ has likely sold between $120 million and $140 million in pre-sales. Pre-sales! That means, a movie that could open to north of $300 million domestically and maybe, maybe just maybe, the first movie to open to $1 billion globally. Don’t laugh at these ridiculous figures! “Avengers: Infinity War” opened to $257 million domestically in 2018, and worldwide, the movie grossed something like $850 million—and that was without China opening yet. ‘Endgame’ opens worldwide everywhere, so $1 billion opening—a phenomenal figure—isn’t out of the question.

Meanwhile, the film screened last night in L.A. at its world premiere, the entire cast was there, and as you might expect, the reactions are hyperbolic. Critics seem to be going apesh*t over the movie.

A few takeaways: One critic calls it a “masterful epic,” another an “emotional roller-coaster” and one commonality appears to be tears. Most critics talk about laughter and tears with one claiming there was “not one dry eye in the house.” Ouch. Should we expect significant sh*t to go down?

Well, yes and we should be expecting it. ‘Endgame’ centers around the original six ‘Avengers’ and is said to give them a the focus and perhaps a proper goodbye. Most of the original six seem to be leaving in some form or another for now. However Scarlet Johansson will reprise her character “Black Widow” in a 2020 movie that may be a prequel and Jeremy Renner is set to play Hawkeye in a Disney+ limited series that sounds like a retirement play where he hands off the role of the famous archer to a younger character.

What else? My biggest thoughts and questions from this contract perspective are this: Mark Ruffalo probably hasn’t exhausted his Marvel appearances because he hasn’t been in a solo movie nor appeared in ‘Civil War,’ so he could probably return, right? Chris Hemsworth appears appearances see to be expired, but the Thor series seems to have been rebooted and revitalized following ‘Ragnarok,’ so he might be the best bet to keep going should he survive the ‘Endgame.’ It also sounds like Hemsworth is just getting started.
It’s all coming. “Avengers: Endgame” opens in theaters April 26 with tons of late night previews on April 25. The movie is sure to shake the movie world at least financially — spoiler-free ‘Endgame’ reactions from various press below.

I quite liked #AvengersEndgame. Lively, well-written, funny and moves along very briskly considering just how much story there is. I may have even teared up.

The scope of Avengers: Endgame is impossible to put into words. What Fiege & MCU achieved over last 10-years has lead to this gloriously masterful moment in cinema & it’s truly mind-blowing how beautifully paced this storytelling is. Perfectly balanced. As all things should be.

Wow. #AvengersEndgame is staggering. It’s surprising in ways I never saw coming and satisfying in ways I didn’t realize I needed. It’s kind of the ultimate gift to fans of the MCU. It’s very long and has a few hiccups, but is everything you’re hoping for and more. pic.twitter.com/RO97kw9fs5

Just watched Avengers: Endgame. I don’t believe hyperbole is possible for this movie. It is the ultimate Marvel movie in every way possible and words cannot describe how epic it is. And yes, Hawkeye is a rockstar.

#AvengersEndgame is A LOT. Too much at times. But wow the payoff is huge. Left me proud to have invested over a decade in a franchise that delivers an inspiring exploration of what it means to be family & a hero. (Endgame also now has one of my favorite shots in the entire MCU.)
— Perri Nemiroff (@PNemiroff) April 23, 2019
Do not go in expecting Infinity War part two. The two films are so different, yet compliment each other in all the best ways. In terms of which MCU movie to watch beforehand… honestly, all of them. What an experience – what an accomplishment#AvengersEndgame
— Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) April 23, 2019
This can't be understated: #AvengersEndgame is everything you want it to be and more. I am absolutely floored. A perfect reflection on the last 11 years that pays off everything in the best way possible. Without question my new favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Stunned. pic.twitter.com/5LvFw9UEBQ
— Eric Eisenberg (@eeisenberg) April 23, 2019
Imagine the best possible version of #AvengersEndgame and somehow the film still surpasses all expectations. I cried 5-6 times. It’s the most emotional, most epic, MCU film. A tribute to ten years of this universe and holy shit the great fan service in this movie. Soooo good.
— Peter Sciretta (@slashfilm) April 23, 2019
#AvengersEndgame is an astonishing, amazing film. I’ve never seen anything like it. This movie is everything I wanted to be and SO much more. Amazing.
