Timothée Chalamet Would Love To Work With ‘Swimming Pool’ Filmmaker François Ozon
At this point, with his star continuing its stratospheric ascent, Timothée Chalamet can pretty much work with any filmmaker he would like to. He’s already done work with Christopher Nolan, Luca Guadagnino, and is currently gearing up to work with Denis Villeneuve. However, in a recent interview, he specifically name-dropped one filmmaker that he would do anything to work with – François Ozon.
Speaking to the French outlet LCI, Chalamet (speaking French, which is probably enough to make people all over the world swoon) was asked if there were any French filmmakers he would like to work with, considering he speaks the language fluently. Without much hesitation, he mentioned Ozon.

Film fans are probably most familiar with Ozon’s work on the acclaimed film “Swimming Pool.” However, in recent years, the filmmaker has worked on other well-received films like “Frantz,” “In the House,” and “Potiche.” He has briefly flirted with English-language films, such as 2007’s “Angel,” but if he were to work with Chalamet, it’s probably more likely he’d want to do the film entirely in French.
In response to being called out by Chalamet, Ozon was quick to reply on Twitter, simply saying, “I HEAR YOU.” Tone is a tricky thing to decipher on social media, so either the filmmaker is excited to potentially work with the young actor or this all-caps response was a bit of a “shut up” sort of reply. We’re going to venture a guess and say it was more of the former.

Chalamet is, of course, making the rounds promoting his film “Beautiful Boy,” which saw him nominated for a Golden Globe and a BAFTA, but sadly no Oscar, as he wasn’t able to go back-to-back after last year’s nomination. As mentioned, the actor is next lining up “Dune,” with Villeneuve, which sees Chalamet tackle his first major big-budget film as a leading man. He’s got an all-star cast joining him, including Javier Bardem, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Rampling, Dave Bautista, and Stellan Skarsgård.
