‘The Passage’ Starts Well In Ratings; ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’ First New Big 4 Show To Grow Crowd In Week 2
Fox’s The Passage (1.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, 5.218 million viewers) got off to a good start Monday night, climbing 18% in the demo off its The Resident (1.1, 5.522M) lead-in. The Resident delivered its most watched telecast ever, excluding post-NFL, and its highest demo rating in nearly four months.
CBS’ 8:30 PM Happy Together finale (0.9, 5.140M) lost three-tenths of its its lead-in The Neighborhood (1.2, 6.878M). The Neighborhood had equaled its best number in the key 18-49 age bracket since its October 1 debut. Both comedies improved, week to week, in the demo, while clocking the largest crowds since their openers.
CBS’ Magnum P.I. (0.7, 5.933 million) similarly gained total viewers, while dipping in the demo, after which Bull (0.8, 7.024M) slipped, week to week, in total crowd, but hung on to demo its data.
NBC’s America’s Got Talent: The Champions (1.7, 9.963M) topped the night in total viewers and the demo. In its second outing, AGT: Champs dropped just a tenth from the previous week’s premiere demo rating. And the reality competition series climbed slightly, week to week, in total viewers – making it the first new Big 4 series to grow, Week 1 to 2, in total viewers. At 10 PM, however, NBC’s Manifest (0.9, 5.490M) tumbled to a season low.
Week 2 of ABC’s 8-10 PM The Bachelor (1.6, 5.599M) grew compared to the previous week’s three-hour 8-11 PM debut by 7% in the demo and 9% in total viewers. The reality series topped last season’s comparable Week 2 telecast by two tenths in the demo.
At 10 PM, returning from a six-week break, ABC’s The Good Doctor (1.2, 6.202M) won the hour with best-since premiere numbers, topping Manifest by three tenths in the demo, marking only its second time pulling off that feat,
ABC (1.5, 5.801M) topped the night in the demo, while NBC (1.4, 8.472M) held a commanding total-viewer lead, followed most closely by CBS (0.9, 6.322M). Fox (1.2, 5.370M) clocked No. 3 status in the demo. CW (0.2, 721K) followed, airing a repeat of Howie Mandel’s stand-up special.
