The Los Angeles Police Department’s downtown headquarters was evacuated Thursday night after a suspicious package turned up in the mail room.

The building is at 1st and Main Street downtown. No other buildings nearby are affected.

Details surrounding the contents of the package have not yet been released.

Due to a suspicious package, LAPD’s Headquarters located at 1st and Main in Downtown Los Angeles has been evacuated. HazMat Personnel are responding and we will update as information becomes available. Please avoid the area.
