Cindy Williams Set As Special Guest For ‘Laverne & Shirley’ Marathon For Penny Marshall At Garry Marshall Theatre
Cindy Williams will appear as a special guest at a Laverne & Shirley marathon in honor of her late co-star Penny Marshall, a salute planned, appropriately enough, at the Garry Marshall Theatre.
The 12-hour episode marathon at the Burbank theater is set for Sunday, Jan. 27, beginning at 10 am.
Williams, who played Shirley to Marshall’s Laverne, will appear in person during the marathon, theater officials announced today. A time for Williams’ appearance was not specified. Other special guests are expected but have not been announced.
The nonprofit theater was founded by Garry Marshall – brother of Penny and creator of, among many other shows, Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley – as the Falcon Theatre in 1997, and renamed in 2017 following Garry Marshall’s death the year prior.
The marathon will include some of Penny Marshall’s favorite episodes, including “Fakeout at the Stakeout,” “Drive! She Said,” “Angels of Mercy” and “Supermarket Sweep.”
Penny Marshall died Dec. 17 at age 75 from heart failure caused by diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
