Chris Brown Has Been Arrested In Paris Over Alleged Assault And Drugs
Chris Brown is reportedly in very serious trouble again. According to recent reports, the R&B musician was allegedly detained in Paris over allegations of drug possession and sexual assault. He is currently being held by French authorities alongside two other undisclosed individuals, according to the French judicial source speaking to the press and media at this time. This altercation is the latest in a long string of reported criminal offenses for Brown.
As it was reported by CNN, details are currently limited when it comes to Chris Brown's most recent arrest, but it's known that Brown is alleged accused of "drug violations and aggravated rape," according to French authorities. The U.S. Embassy in Paris declined to comment on the situation, as did the representatives for the musician. Chris Brown and the other two detained individuals are still reportedly locked up at the time of this reporting.
According to the French magazine Closer, the reported sexual assault occurred between January 15th-16th at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Chris Brown's suite. According to the unknown woman's testimony, she met with Brown at a nightclub in Paris, and that she was invited -- along with other women -- to the musician's suite. The woman then claims that she and Brown were reportedly alone at some point later that night, and that's when the controversial musician committed sexual assault. The woman also claims that she was abused by a friend of Chris Brown, as well as his bodyguard.
Chris Brown has been the subject of several legal controversies over the years, most famously when he pleaded guilty to felony assault of his former girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009. Brown was sentenced a restraining order against Rihanna, and he was ordered to attend community service and domestic violence counseling. Then in May of last year, Chris Brown was caught in a legal battle with Young Lo and an unknown woman who claimed that she was repeatedly assaulted by Young Lo in Chris Brown's residence in 2017. Brown was sued by the unidentified woman for this reported sexual assault.
Additionally, Chris Brown's most recent string of legal woes includes being arrested in July of last year in West Palm Beach, Florida, after his concert for an outstanding warrant of felony battery that came in April 2017 following an altercation when the musician punched a photographer who reportedly took a snapshot of Brown without the singer's permission. He has also found himself in a good bit of legal trouble for reportedly illegally owning a pet monkey named Fiji. As the case continued for the musician, Chris Brown tried to make a case by saying that he didn't actually own the pet at any point.
Developments regarding this arrest in Paris are expected to arrive in the days to come. For now, however, information regarding Chris Brown's situation is currently left vague and unknown, but we will be sure to keep you posted on any additional updates that might arrive in the days and weeks to come.
