‘Captain Marvel’ & ‘Humans’ Star Gemma Chan Signs With WME

EXCLUSIVE: Gemma Chan, who is next up playing Minn-Erva opposite Brie Larson in Captain Marvel, the latest Disney/Marvel superhero tentpole that is set for a March 8 release, has signed with WME for representation.

Chan recently played Astrid in Warner Bros’ breakout hit Crazy Rich Asians and is onscreen now in Focus Features’ Mary Queen of Scots opposite Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie.

The busy times comes after the London-born Chan broke out in the Channel 4/AMC AI drama series Humans, which just aired its third season. She recently finished shooting a starring role in a Channel 4-set three-part anthology drama series from Dominic Savage (The Escape). Her TV credits include BBC/PBS’ Sherlock and ITV2/Showtime’s Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

Chan also was part of the West End cast of David Henry Hwang’s Yellow Face at the Park Theatre and in the National Theatre’s revival. Her stage credits include Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming.

She had been repped by UTA; she continues to be repped by Independent Talent Group.
