Friday Ratings: ‘Midnight, Texas’ Series Finale Holds The Fort On Rerun-Filled Slate
The series finale of NBC’s Midnight, Texas was the highlight of a rerun-filled Friday night of programming, and the supernatural drama went out by holding on to its audience, scoring an 0.4/2 and 2.42 million viewers.
Following that farewell, NBC’s America’s Got Talent rose a bit from last week’s holiday special, ticking up a tenth to 0.5/3, 3.29. Rounding out the NBC evening, Dateline was also up, scoring strongly with an 0.6/4 and 4.13 million.
Fox’s Last Man Standing was again strong demographically, hitting an 0.6/3 and 3.22 million even though it was a rerun. The show again gave momentum to its trailers, as The Cool Kids held at 0.5/3 and 2.59 million, with Hell’s Kitchen also holding at 0.4/2 and 1.48 million.
ABC was back with original programming, albeit reruns, after its Christmas specials run. A rerun of Fresh Off The Boat scored an 0.4/2 and 2.50 million, while Speechless was a rerun scoring at 0.3/2 and 1.78 million. The lead-ins didn’t help a fresh edition of 20/20, which was down a tenth at 0.4/2 and 2.50 million.
On CBS, a rerun of Garth Brooks performing at Notre Dame received a 0.5/3 and 3.85 over its two-hour run. The country singer gave way to a rerun of Blue Bloods, which ticked down a tenth to 0.4/2 and 4.52 million viewers.
The CW saw Penn & Teller: Fool Us on from 8 PM to 10 PM, garnering an 0.2/1 and 1.20 million for the first hour and 0.1/1 and 0.56 in the second hour.
CBS was the overall network winner, scoring 0.5/3 and 4.19 million total viewers.
