‘I Am The Night’ Trailer: Patty Jenkins & Chris Pine Team Up For A New Limited Series About The Black Dahlia Murder
Patty Jenkins and Chris Pine might be busy on the set of the upcoming superhero sequel “Wonder Woman 1984,” but that isn’t stopping them from promoting their upcoming TNT limited series “I am the Night.”
The latest trailer for the upcoming series has a short introduction from the duo of Pine and Jenkins from the set of ‘WW84,’ however, there’s no superheroics in “I am the Night.” The new thriller series follows a young woman on a search for her past, after learning she’s adopted. Along the way, she crosses paths with a reporter who believes the girl has a connection to the Black Dahlia murder.

The series is based on the true story of Fauna Hodel, who wrote the book, “One Day She’ll Darken.” Hodel is a white-skinned, blue-eyed daughter of a black woman, who through the course of the story finds the true story of who her father is and why she’s the key to solving one of the most notorious crimes in US history.
The series comes from director-producer Patty Jenkins, who, as mentioned above, is probably best known for her 2017 film, “Wonder Woman.” She’s aboard to helm the first two episodes. “I am the Night” stars Chris Pine alongside India Eisley, Jefferson Mays, Leland Orser, Connie Nielson, and Yul Vazquez.
TNT is going to premiere the first episode of the series on January 28, 2019.
Here’s the synopsis:
From executive producer Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), I Am the Night tells the incredible story of Fauna Hodel (India Eisley) who was given away at birth. As Fauna begins to investigate the secrets to her past, she follows a sinister trail that swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel (Jefferson Mays), a man involved in the darkest Hollywood debauchery. Chris Pine plays Jay Singletary, a former Marine-turned-hack-reporter/paparazzo.
